Prior to the formation of Partners Advantage, he worked as an agent, sales manager, home office regional, and general manager. Serving at the helm of the company, he helped develop it into one of the most successful independent marketing organizations in the country. Partners Advantage offers a comprehensive platform for insurance professionals to grow their businesses and agencies. He recently published a book entitled: Mergers & Acquisitions 101: What All Independent Marketing Organizations Need to Consider to Survive and Thrive in Today’s Changing Business Landscape. In the past six years, he has directed eight mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances for Partners Advantage Insurance Services. James Wong
Partners Advantage

James WongJames Wong was appointed as President of Partners Advantage in 2013. Prior to this role, he served in several senior management positions with the company, including Chief Information Officer. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President in charge of the company's Platinum Partners division. It has been the fastest growing division of the company, taking a rapid trajectory from originally serving 30 agencies to 100 agencies today.

He entered the insurance industry in 1999 and built his own insurance marketing organization. As the Internet boom changed the way insurance information and products were delivered to the client, he focused on internet lead generation and generated 2,000 clients, primarily through online leads. His company merged with Partners Advantage in 2006. James holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from University of California, San Diego. He enjoys spending time being active, including playing basketball and running with his wife Valerie.

Steve Freking, CLU

Steve Freking joined Partners Advantage through the merger with Independent Brokerage Network in April of 2008. He focuses on expanding the health division here at Partners through a suite of long term care, disability income, and linked benefit products Prior to joining Partners Advantage, he was Director of Marketing for IBN for 10 years. He graduated from Drake University with a degree in Actuarial Science, receiving his Associate designation from the Society of Actuaries in 1992.

Kevin Gotto, CPA

Kevin Gotto joined Partners Advantage through the merger with Independent Brokerage Network in April of 2008. Prior to that, he spent 22 years as CFO of IBN and worked closely with all of IBN’s field force on commissions, marketing, and case placement. He is a graduate of Iowa State University and holds an MBA from the University of South Dakota.
